Welcome to the Current Middle Ages & the Barony of Bonwicke
Gold Division Bar
Bonwicke is the Lubbock, Texas (and surrounding counties) chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism or SCA. The SCA is a worldwide, non-profit organization dedicated to recreating the Middle Ages in a family environment here in the current day. We are the embodiment of the ideals, honor and chivalry as they were in the 4th through 16th centuries without all the hardships that were so commonplace (like, say, the black plague!). We are the Middle Ages as they always should have been. For more information on the SCA check out our monthly newsletter, The Oracle, and our links page.

Our interests include archery, artistry, chivalry, combat, cooking, costuming, embroidery, fencing, gaming, heraldry, herbalism, illumination, pageantry, painting, science, sword play & so much more from medieval times. We make our own costumes, armor and weapons. We play personas (characters who could have, but did not, live in the Middle Ages), fight in tournaments, cook period feasts, and almost always have an event to attend on the weekends.

See the calendar for our current local schedule of activities here in town, as well as events taking place throughout the greater Kingdom.

Also be aware that the best way to keep up with what we are doing and when we are meeting is to join our e-list

Mission Statement for the Barony of Bonwicke

We of the Barony of Bonwicke strive to uphold the traditions of the S.C.A. by providing equal support for all groups within the boundaries of the barony. Our Officers work together to ensure that our available resources can be called upon by members interested in the arts, martial disciplines, and service, and that those participating shall receive the recognition they deserve for their efforts. All members shall be treated with fairness and none shall be ignored should they come forward with matters relevant to the governance of our realm.
